The first person I spoke with said that apple does not support Network file sharing! I spoke to Apple support and they basically refused to troubleshoot the issue stating that they can only support time machine issues and are not trained in Network share issues. I have tested access to the NAS with both accounts simultaneously on other devices while experiencing this issue and other devices do not have any problems accessing the network shares, viewing directories or sending/receiving files. So it is not a login issue on the NAS per say or a file transport issue. I am not having any issues with the NAS on iphone, ipads, chromebooks and other PCs. It appears that whoever logs in first is the only one that has the capability to access network drives. If I log in with my wife's account first, then I cannot access the server network drives. The remediation I have found is to restart the machine. It basically hangs up and I have to force quit. If I sign out and my wife logins, she cannot access any of her network drives.Įven if we try to connect to a new location via finder, the finder window just sits there saying "connecting as.". If I login and mount network drives, everything works great. I have two user accounts for me and my wife on this laptop.
